Hello, welcome back to my blog. It’s been another week and I am ready to share what I have done this week with you.
As many of you are aware I fell on Monday after my first run on the proposed training plan. Shredding my knee and in great pain I decided to miss the next session of running. Therefore, I did not run on Wednesday as I proposed. However, the Monday run was great. I was wearing my new shoes- The Altra Provision 4- and I felt steady and stable. As it corrects your form at the start I did think the tongue was a little uncomfortable but it wasn’t. It was just the eye lit chain guiding my foot. After a few minutes I got used to it. Also, the insole is so comfortable, its like having a foot massage–I could tell it works as my legs felt fresh when I got back (except from my knee obviously).
So… Tuesday is my rest day as you all know and Wednesday was supposed to be a speed session. I didn’t do it, as already stated, but I made sure to get over 10,000 steps in the day. I, also, did this instead of my strength session on Thursday as I was struggling to lunge and bend my knee.
Moving onto Friday, I went on a run- just under 5k. My breathing felt really bad and it was just an awful run on the trails but it all counts. I will get the gains. And Saturday was a 2 mile race. I got my fastest ever mile and then dipped a little. I got 15:00 minutes but I don’t know why I choose hills.
So this week, which I’m finishing with some strength work, has not gone to plan but time to start again next week. Also, a bit about what I’ve been up to. I’ve started a study YouTube channel and a podcast with Hybrid Running. I’m busy and I’m going to be more busy with the reopening of my educational institution on Monday.
