Affects of radiotherapy

Finally finished radiotherapy this week,  20 sessions of spinal radiotherapy completed and my tip is not to underestimate it. I started by walking but now I can’t really do that. I’m too tired and my legs just feel heavy,  I feel unsteady and my head is just fuzzy. As it went on, my symptoms did increase so my steroids were high, leaving me with lots of spots and without a filter. It was hard but I got through it. I’ve now hot through 80 sessions of radiotherapy in my lifetime.  I have 3 masks and hope. .

People may know I had a fundraiser for MOVE charity who provide physical and mental support for those during and after treatment, so far we’ve raised  over £1,500 so thank you so much and thank you to everyone chipping in with steps when I was unable to. If you would like to donate, I’ll leave a link here.

This will be a short blog as radiotherapy has just made me so tired but I want to say a big thank you to everyone supporting me and hopefully I can get fit enough again to run. Yet walking unsupported is the first aim. Thank you so much for everyone’s support because it really does get you down.

  1. Thank You, you are an inspiration to us all, you also make me feel incredibly guilty.
At 77 I occasionally feel sorry for myself, not coping with old age very well with things going then I think of you. That’s when I feel guilty.
